DESCRIPTION:Today\, leadership isn’t about control or prediction – i
 t’s about navigating complexity and facing wicked problems – the kin
 d that resist change and do not respond to traditional leadership approa
 ches.\n\n\n\nLeadership is not just title or position – it is also a p
 rocess that emerges from how young those you lead perceive\, engage\, an
 d shift the systems around you.\n\n\n\nOften what keeps us stuck isn’t
  the problem itself\, but the assumptions and conversations we bring to 
 it – it’s like shining a torch in a dark room\, if we keep shining t
 he torch in the same direction we miss much of what else is around us\, 
 including more useful ways of engaging with the problem.\n\n\n\nAdult de
 velopmental approaches challenge us to grow vertically – learning to s
 ee differently\, think differently\, and act differently. Think of it th
 is way: we’re not filling your cup with more techniques – we’re gr
 owing the container so you can hold greater complexity.\n\n\n\nThis inte
 nsive\, and focused course is designed specifically for those who wish t
 o expand and deepen their knowledge and practice of leadership. Particip
 ants will typically be:\n\n\n\n\nMid-to-senior leaders driving change an
 d transformation.\n\n\n\nOwner-leaders balancing vision and daily operat
 ions.\n\n\n\nMentors and coaches who develop other leaders\n\n\n\nHigh-p
 otential leaders seeking wider influence.\n\n\n\nAcademics and professio
 nal influencers shaping leadership thinking and practice\n\n\n\n\nThe co
 urse takes a trans-disciplinary approach that combines the theory and re
 search with an experiential and hands-on approach in which participants 
 are invited to learn by doing\, reflecting\, adjusting and experimenting
 . It is heavily informed by complex adaptive systems theory and adult de
 velopmental psychology and explores what is enabled and constrained by t
 he assumptions underpinning our approaches to leadership. In particular\
 , the course will focus on developmental challenges in complex environme
 nts and includes a Subject Object Interview (Kegan\, 2003\; Lahey et al.
 \, 1988) and debrief for each participant.\n\n\n\nThe course is conducte
 d over 4 days face-to-face with a number of structured follow up session
 s to be conducted on-line. The 4 days are split into 2 x 2 day blocks se
 parated by a 4-6 week break in which participants are invited reflect on
  their learning and their attempts to apply it.\n\n\n\nDays 1 &amp\; 2: 
 Thursday 16th &amp\; Friday 17th April 2026\n\n\n\nDays 3 &amp\; 4: Thur
 sday 30th April and 1st May 2026\n\n\n\nTopics Covered Include:\n\n\n\n\
 nWhat is “leadership”? What are the assumptions underpinning the maj
 or leadership theories? What do they enable and constrain.\n\n\n\nManagi
 ng in complexity. The failure of reductive models\, the role of tension 
 and unpredictability.\n\n\n\nCore coaching models – what do they enabl
 e and constrain?\n\n\n\nWhat is adult developmental theory – and why m
 ight it be important?\n\n\n\nWhat supporting others developmental journe
 y look like?\n\n\n\nLeadership and leadership coaching?\n\nModels of lea
 dership and leadership coaching\n\n\n\nLeadership in complexity\n\n\n\nA
  model of leadership and leadership development\n\n\n\nDialogue and lead
